WYSIWYG – Lighting Design, Programming, and Pre-visualisation
As a lighting technician, one tool that has become increasingly essential in my work is WYSIWYG, a 3D lighting design software that allows me to visualize and design lighting layouts in a virtual environment.
Before WYSIWYG, lighting designers were limited to creating lighting designs on paper or in 2D software, which made it difficult to fully understand how the lighting would look and feel in the actual space. This often resulted in expensive and time-consuming changes on site, as lighting designers had to adjust their designs to fit the physical constraints of the venue.
WYSIWYG allows me to create detailed 3D models of my lighting designs and preview how they will look and function in the actual space. This not only saves time and money by catching potential issues before the event, but it also allows for greater creativity and flexibility in the design process. The software allows me to program and control lighting systems remotely, which can be especially useful in large or complex events where setup time maybe limited.
Whether you are planning a small intimate event or a large-scale production, I have the skills and experience to bring your lighting vision to life using WYSIWYG.
